On Sunday May 15, 2016, Fort Shirley in Dominica’s Cabrits National Park will come alive for the highly anticipated mainstage event of the 7th Annual Dominica’s Jazz ‘n Creole Festival.
Over the years, the festival has featured performance by many renowned local, regional, and international artists including Alfredo de la Fe, Angelique Kidjo, Arturo Tappin, Barbara Cadet, Beethova Obas, Bwakore, Cameron Pierre, Eric Ildefonse Quartet, Fitzroy Williams, Heston Francis, Jacques Schwarz-Bart Trio Marlow Rosado y la Riquena, Michele Henderson, Monty Alexander, Ralph Thamar, and Ronald Tulle.
This year’s event will feature live performances by Cameron Pierre & Breve, Soft, Elan Parlé, The Andy Narell Quartet featuring Luis Perdomo, Obed Calvaire & Yunior Terry, and The Cadence All Stars.
The festival is designed to attract families and features elements for the youth and young at heart including a Kiddies Zone with bouncing castle, face painting and much more. The venue is relaxing and patrons are welcomed to bring picnic chairs and blankets. There are food and drink bars featuring a wide variety of Creole cuisines. Coolers and picnic baskets are allowed but at a fee.
